Bronwen Schalkwyk quietly combines imagination and technique in harmony to create fine art (watercolour, oil, acrylic etc) that is sought after by art lovers, interior designers & ordinary people who love beauty. Bronwen is a multi-award-winning & exhibited artist, with her first solo exhibition in 1987 and dozens more locally and internationally since then. She has contributed to various publications and art magazines and has been celebrated in the press.

After obtaining a Diploma in Art and Design in 1982, Bronwen's career meandered via graphic design and free-lance illustrating to her calling as a fine artist. Today she's featured in art magazines and invited to exhibit her beautiful works of art.
Bronwen wrote for Tina Skukan Gallery: "I aspire to paint a painting of joyful colour and beauty that can be uplifting in the somewhat difficult times that we live in."

"The name Bronwyn Schalkwyk may be unknown to many people, but this jewel of an artist was approached by ArtBox to exhibit her work to the public.
She is a very modest artist who does not like the limelight, though she has received numerous awards
for her watercolour paintings.
The Watercolour Association of South Africa honoured Bronwen with higher associate membership in 2012 for her proficiency in water colour painting.
Bronwen is an extremely accomplished watercolour technician. Few can equal her subtle use of colour and
contrast. She has the ability to capture a deep, rich black on paper - a notoriously difficult technique to master in water colour painting.
She is equally skilled with acrylic paint and manages to achieve the same light, translucent effect in her paintings
done in acrylic.
Her subjects usually comprise detail of natural objects and elements captured on paper or canvas: ripples of sunlight on water, the texture of a log,
delicate shells, rough rocks and beautiful old slated windows set in walls with weathered plastering.
According to Bronwen she finds inspiration in nature and the world around her.
Her works never lose their charm and looks equally stunning in a traditional as well as an ultra-modern
setting. Her exhibition is a must for any art lover or collector."
